The idea behind the project is to create a physical match of the rare caliper you see in the picture along side the S-Caliper. This caliper is thought to be one of the very first 908 calipers in existence. This specific caliper retains the 910 style quick change pad pin mechanism of the calipers that went before it and, it is stamped with "V" codes meaning Versuch or... experimental.
These are for vintage cars of the period (914-6/GT cars, 911ST and TR cars) who's vintage calipers are long gone (this happens a lot) and for those that just want a unique caliper on their hot-rod Renn project.
The Early S-Caliper was no doubt built off the 908 casting. In that regard, they are identical. I'll try to outline the details of this caliper so you can make an educated decision as to whether these would be right for you.
